Jew from Elkana murdered by Arab employees

Reuven Shmerling, 70

October 4, 2017 - Reuven Shmerling was beaten to death in his warehouse in Kfar Kasim.

Reuven Shmerling (70) of Elkana, was found beaten to death on Wednesday 4 October 2017 in a warehouse he owned in the industrial zone of Kafr Kasim, located some 20 km. east of Tel Aviv. The murder took place one day before his 70th birthday.

The findings collected so far over the course of the Shin Bet investigation indicate that the attack was motivated by a nationalistic motive. Two Palestinian residents of Qabatiya were arrested on suspicion of the murder.

Hundreds of mourners attended his funeral, which took place at the Elkana cemetery on Friday 6 October.

He is survived by his wife, four children and nineteen grandchildren.
